Elon Musk once said in an interview for Code Conference 2016 that there is a “one in billions” chance that we are not living in a simulation. In other words, he’s saying that we as living species as well as the universe we know ourselves, are most likely not a reality. For those who are hearing this for the first time, it might be difficult to wrap your head around. However, the concept that life is either a simulation or a hologram created by a far-advanced civilization is one that is clearly valid when trying to put things into context. When unexplained scientific phenomena are put into the equation, the idea that life is in fact a hologram can seem to be the most reasonable answer as to why so many concepts of origin are nowhere within our reach.

Simulation Theory
The first unexplainable phenomena as to why life is a hologram is because we actually have only a small idea as to how the universe first formed. While it is true that the Big Bang Theory is used in contemporary astronomy and astrophysics to explain the origin of the universe, this theory still has many fallacies. For example, the Big Bang Theory contends that the universe exploded from nothing, or that a small tiny speck of dust that contained all the known aspects in the universe, including energy, space, and time. If this in fact, true, then it would be disagreeing with the law of conservation of energy, a scientific principle that dictates much of our current understanding of the universe. The idea that matter came from nothing, or that the speck that contained all known components of the current universe exploded for no reason is completely erroneous. If the latter were to be somewhat true, then what triggered the explosion? No force from the inside could cause a disruption to the singularity state it was in, so the only alternative solution is that the Big Bang was initiated by the collision of an external force. However, that is certainly not possible, at least within human understanding, because nothing can move or exist without time. And since time was contained within the singularity that supposedly carried all known components of the universe, certainly no external impact could be possible.
Another fallacy in the creation of the universe, and life as we know it, is the idea of something called “antimatter”. Astrophysicist Michio Kaku said that antimatter is matter with an opposite charge. He explains that the explosion of the Big Bang actually came to existence when matter and antimatter collided with each other, and that what is currently known are the remnants of the slightly greater quantity of matter when the two collided. However, why must it have been matter that existed in greater qualities, and not antimatter? Theoretically, when matter and antimatter collide, the two particles should cancel each other out, essentially becoming absolutely nothing in the end. But again, the simple solution that is forced to be comprehended is that matter existed in greater supply, creating the universe itself as we know it. The main issue here is that the great cosmological questions that we as a species don’t know aren’t simply due to lack of technological advancements or other limiting factors; they are likely questions that challenge our very own existence, because they are ungraspable to the human mind.
Another cosmological explanation as to why life is a hologram is because of the theory called the Olber’s Paradox. Olber’s Paradox gives an explanation as to why we see a spaces of dark in between stars in the night sky, instead of a bright sky due to all the light from the billions of galaxies that exist. Even if many of the stars we currently see are dead stars, then still should be 13.8 billion years worth of light heading towards the direction of the earth. Not just 13.8 billion years of light, but 13.8 billion years of light from the billion of trillions of observable stars has been approaching earth. This should mean that we should witness bright days and nights due to the innumerable number of stars in the perceivable universe. Olber’s Paradox says that the reason why the night sky is dark is because even if our universe is infinitely large, it is not infinitely old. Accordingly, the time delay from the galaxies spreading further away would prevent such light from reaching us. But this seems like an invalid explanation, because that would mean that the universe is accelerating faster than the speed of light. There seems to be explanations as to how this is possible as well, due to special relativity, but again these seem to be a bit too extreme of theories unfounded by facts.
There are too many unexplainable astronomical occurrences. How the universe accelerating when the universe is also cooling down? What is causing this accelerating
expansion? Dark matter? Dark energy? How come the earth hasn’t locked tidally to the sun already, when the moon has locked tidally to the earth? Where do all the matter that go into a black hole go to? How have we not witnessed a white hole? How exactly do galaxies ever collide? All of these unanswered questions continue to shine doubt on how these observances of the universe are even possible. However, there is one explanation as to all of our doubts. The universe, or reality itself, is a hologram. It is simply a simulation created by a superior species, and we are game, just as we create games of reality ourselves. It is true that there is no tangible evidence to show that this is true, but even famous astrophysicists such as Neil Degrasse Tyson claim that there is a very high probability that we are simply a simulation in another species’ hard drive. There are simply too many mysteries that seem improbable to the current status of human beings, and too many skeptical, unreasonable explanations for these enigmas.
So next time something bad happens, don’t put yourself down too much. Just blame it on your creator for not making you the maximum level player.
